Tarras Valley Nature Reserve to host Skydancer Day Guided Tour on Saturday 4th April

Tarras Valley Nature Reserve, founded after a remarkable community fundraising initiative against impossible odds, is hosting a number of guided tours on Saturday 4th April with the aim of sharing knowledge about the birds of prey at the reserve, including the chance of seeing skydancing Hen Harriers!

There are four tours running throughout the day, but tickets are selling fast, so you’ll need to hurry.

Each tour will be expert-led by a member of the local Dumfries and Galloway Raptor Study Group, and will last around 75 minutes.

The reserve has had immense success with breeding Hen Harriers, having fledged eight chicks in 2024 and a further nine in 2025, including some of the birds that have been satellite tagged thanks to generous donations from Hen Harrier Action supporters.
