We are Hen Harrier Action, a registered charity run by a small group of volunteers, whose aim is to help protect the birds and other animals of the uplands, in particular the hen harrier and other raptors, by raising public awareness of wildlife crime and other issues related to unsustainable land management in the UK uplands.

We do so by:

  • Organising Skydancer Day, an online event in May that shares film footage and interviews with key people working to protect hen harriers and birds of prey
  • Supporting others to organise local events to raise awareness of the hen harrier
  • Running competitions for young people, such as Young Wild Writer and Young Filmmaker
  • Publishing a newsletter to keep our supporters up to date
  • Sharing our work on YouTube, Twitter and Facebook
