In our August issue, we announced the winners of the Hen Harrier Action annual Young Wild Writers Competition, which attracted a huge response, with over 300 entries of an exceptional standard, according to lead judge and children’s author, Gill Lewis.
We also feature two moorland walks that took place in August to protest against the start of the grouse shooting season – the Inglorious 12th – and against the destruction wrought on our precious uplands by the shooting community.
And we shared the devastating news that three more satellite tagged Hen Harriers have vanished within a few days of the Inglorious 12th, with all three birds having stopped transmitting over grouse moors.
